Kansas City Royals fans showed their appreciation Wednesday night.
The Royals suffered a devastating loss to the San Francisco Giants in Game 7 of the World Series. Despite the agony, Kansas City supporters broke into a boisterous “Thank you, Royals” chant at Kaufmann Stadium shortly after the series’ final out.
While the hometown crowd obviously hoped for a better conclusion to the Fall Classic, it still appreciated a special season.
The Royals entered October as one of the American League’s two wild card teams. They defeated the Oakland Athletics in the one-game playoff in thrilling fashion to jump-start a run for the ages.
