Large Antlers Not Enough To Rally Royals In World Series Opener (Photo)

The Kansas City Royals and their fans experienced the World Series for the first time since 1985.

Things didn’t go as planned Tuesday night, however, as the San Francisco Giants rolled to a 7-1 win over James Shields and the Royals in Game 1. That was an unfortunate ending to an otherwise jubilant night for Royals fans — a night that included one enormous pair of antlers.

One clever KC supporter was somehow able to sneak a big set of moose antlers into Kauffman Stadium. The fact that in this day and age, with high-level security for professional sporting events, someone was able to carry something like that into the stadium is neither here nor there. The antlers were just awesome.

Like we said, enormous.

If for some reason you’re sitting there thinking to yourself, “What do antlers have to do with anything,” remember Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas a.k.a. “Moose.” In relative terms, Moustakas had a nice night, as his double was one of just four Kansas City hits in Game 1.
