LeBron James’ chalk toss was almost as highly anticipated as his first game back in a Cleveland Cavaliers uniform, but it didn’t wind up being that impressive.

The Cavs handed out bags of confetti to fans at Thursday night’s season opener against the New York Knicks with the plan that they’d throw it in the air at the same time James threw his chalk. Cool idea, right?

However, getting 20,000 people to do something in unison isn’t easy, so it didn’t go exactly as planned.

Technology also was a factor in the lackluster confetti toss, as SBNation pointed out that everyone was too busy taking pictures with their cell phones to participate.
