martellus bennettThings could be better these days for the Chicago Bears.

After getting shellacked 51-23 by the New England Patriots on Sunday, Martellus Bennett expressed frustration after the game by spouting some nonsense about defensive ends flopping while even taking a shot at Miami Heat big man Chris Bosh.

The Bears tight end was upset about a holding penalty he received against Patriots defensive end Dominique Easley.

“I pushed him, they called hold,” Bennett said, via ProFootballTalk. “The fat dude fell down.”

In case you’re keeping score at home, Easley is listed at 284 pounds — just 20 pounds heavier than Bennett.

But the angry tight end wasn’t done. Bennett also made rash generalizations about flopping habits in the NFL.

“They’re kind of flopping now,” Bennett said. “A lot of defensive ends are flopping in the NFL, trying to get a penalty when they feel like can’t make a play. They’re Chris Bosh-ing us out there.”

Ouch.

You’d think that after making an unbelievable touchdown grab in the loss, Bennett would cool down a little bit. But it seems as thoughthe wounds of the 3-5 Bears are so deep that individual plays aren’t enough to make the pain go away.
