Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps is planning to make some changes in his life, and the first will be to seek help.
According to The Baltimore Sun, Phelps entered a six-week in-patient treatment program Sunday that will keep him out of competitions until at least mid-November. Phelps’ representatives at Octagon said it is a comprehensive program “that will help him focus on all of his life experiences and identify areas of need for long-term personal growth and development.”
The 29-year-old announced the news in a series of tweets on Sunday, saying that he will be “taking some time away from swimming” and will enter a rehab program after being arrested for driving under the influence in Baltimore, Md., last week.

Phelps, who was stopped by police for going 85 mph in a 45 mph zone, registered a .14 blood alcohol level at the time of his arrest. It is the second time Phelps has been arrested on DUI charges, with his first arrest coming in 2004 when he was 19 years old.
