There’s sad, there’s depressing, and then there’s the 2014 Michigan football team.

The once-proud program has been a complete disaster this season, entering the weekend with a 3-4 record and struggling so badly that it virtually gave tickets away for free at a recent home game.

The sad state of affairs continued in Saturday’s game against Michigan State. After the eighth-ranked Spartans opened a commanding lead over the Wolverines, even Michigan’s student-run newspaper jumped ship.

What happened next should come as no surprise.

It appears The Michigan Daily made a wise choice, as the newspaper spared its followers the gory details of a 35-11 blowout loss. The Wolverines face the 3-4 Indiana Hoosiers next weekend. Hopefully there will be more to tweet about in that one.
