NFL Week 5 Injury Update: Eric Decker Out For Jets Against Chargers

3:15 p.m.: Eric Decker was able to tough it out last week, but he’s listed as one of the New York Jets’ inactives this week. That’s a tough blow for a Jets offense that isn’t very good to begin with.

3 p.m.: The second half of Sunday’s slate is about an hour away. The San Francisco 49ers will be down an offensive weapon when they kick off against the Kansas City Chiefs. Vernon Davis has been ruled out.

11:32 a.m.: Two important members of the Baltimore Ravens’ defense are also active in a big game against the Indianapolis Colts.

11:30 a.m.: Calvin Johnson is officially active for the Lions.

11:20 a.m.: Texans running back Arian Foster is dealing with a hamstring injury. As we said earlier, he’s still expected to play against Dallas. However, hamstring injuries can be dicey, and that should play a part in how Foster is used on Sunday.

11:13 a.m.: Eric Decker was questionable last week, but he ended up getting into the New York Jets’ lineup. Then, he got into the end zone on one of his four catches for 48 yards. He’ll be another game-time decision this week, though, according to the New York Daily News’ Manish Mehta.

10:41 a.m.: The Houston Texans are getting some good news, too, as it looks like running back Arian Foster and wide receiver Andre Johnson are both good to go against the Dallas Cowboys.

9:33 a.m.: It’s been a Rap Sheet type of morning so far. Ian Rapoport just reported that Calvin Johnson told Lions teammates he’ll play against Buffalo.

9:10 a.m.: Add New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham to the list of questionable players expected to play Sunday. Per Ian Rapoport, once again:

8:57 a.m.: It sounds as if St. Louis Rams wide receiver Tavon Austin will be back in the lineup. He was questionable with a knee injury, but according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, Austin will be in the mix against the Eagles.

8:30 a.m.: The Detroit Lions’ receiving corps is pretty banged up right now.

The Lions will take on the Buffalo Bills on Sunday afternoon, and there’s a chance they will do so without top wideouts Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate. Both players are dealing with injuries, and even if they’re able to go, it’s unclear how healthy they will be.

Johnson is the bigger question mark of the two. He’s nursing an ankle injury and is a game-time decision. Detroit head coach Jim Caldwell admitted earlier in the week that there’s a chance Johnson doesn’t play against the Bills. Tate, meanwhile, was listed as probable in the final injury report with a hamstring injury.

In addition to Johnson and Tate’s injuries, the Lions will be without tight end Joseph Fauria (ankle) and running back Joique Bell (concussion) on Sunday.

We’ll be monitoring the Lions’ situation and injury news across the league leading up to kickoff, so be sure to check back throughout the day for the latest as you get ready to set your lineups or make your picks.
