If you’re a Boston Bruins fan, chances are you remember where you were on the night of May 13, 2013.
That’s when the Bruins’ season appeared to be over after they fell behind 4-1 to the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals. Yet Boston staged an improbable comeback, scoring three goals in just over 10 minutes of play to force overtime at the TD Garden.
The Bruins’ late-game heroics set the stage for Patrice Bergeron, who pounced on a Maple Leafs turnover in front of the net and banged the puck home six minutes into the overtime period to give the B’s the remarkable victory and the series win.
Because reliving that epic moment never gets old, watch Andy Brickley break down Bergeron’s timeless game winner in the video above.
