NFL: USA TODAY Sports-ArchiveFOXBORO, Mass. — Deontae Skinner is back with the Patriots after being left without a spot on the New England Patriots’ 53-man roster when fellow linebackers Jonathan Casillas and Akeem Ayers were acquired via trade.

The Patriots re-signed Skinner to the practice squad, the team announced Friday. The Patriots cut wide receiver Jonathan Krause to make roster room for the rookie linebacker.

Skinner played in seven games for the Patriots, starting one and recording 16 tackles and one sack before being released Wednesday when the team signed veteran defensive tackle Alan Branch.
