FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots finally filled out their 10-man scout team Friday.
The Patriots signed wide receiver Jonathan Krause and linebacker Ja’Gared Davis to the practice squad, the team announced.
Krause is a 5-foot-11, 187-pound rookie out of Vanderbilt. He ran a 4.37-second 40-yard dash, 6.94-second three-cone drill and 4.04-second short shuttle at his pro day in March. He also broad-jumped 10-foot-8 and leaped 37.5 inches on his vertical jump.
Krause recorded 42 receptions with 714 yards with three touchdowns as a senior, and he also returned 18 punts for 64 yards. The Cleveland Browns cut Krause on Aug. 25 after signing him as an undrafted free agent in May.
The Patriots cut Davis on Wednesday to make room for fellow linebacker Akeem Ayers, whom they acquired this week from the Tennessee Titans. Davis was signed to the active roster from the practice squad earlier in the month when the Patriots cut wide receiver Kenbrell Thompkins.
Krause and Davis join cornerback Daxton Swanson, linebacker Darius Fleming, offensive lineman Caylin Hauptmann, defensive linemen Jake Bequette, Joe Vellano, Ben Bass and Kona Schwenke, and wide receiver Josh Boyce on the practice squad.
