Pedro MartinezBuster Posey’s resume is growing.

The San Francisco Giants catcher is a two-time MLB All-Star, a National League Rookie of the Year, an MVP, a batting champion and a two-time World Series champion. He soon might win a third ring. And he’s just 27.

But is Posey the new “face of baseball” now that New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter has retired?

ESPN’s Jayson Stark believes Posey is worthy of the title. Surely, he’s not alone. Red Sox Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez isn’t ready to slap the label on Posey without first considering all of the other candidates, though.

Martinez tackled the debate Sunday night via Twitter.
