Rajon Rondo might not be 100 percent yet, but he’s being very specific about where he’s at on the percentage scale.
The Boston Celtics point guard told reporters before Monday’s practice there’s a “79 percent” chance he’ll play in Wednesday’s regular-season opener against the Brooklyn Nets. Head coach Brad Stevens said Rondo would practice with the Celtics on Monday before checking in with doctors Tuesday morning for a final check-up, according to the Boston Globe’s Gary Washburn.
If Rondo gets the OK, he’ll be eligible to play.

Rondo originally was expected to miss six to eight weeks after breaking a metacarpal in his left hand Sept. 25 in a fall at his home. But the point guard, who was cleared for full-contact practice Friday, has progressed quickly.
If Rondo suits up for the opener against the Nets, it would put his recovery time just shy of five weeks.
