The Boston Red Sox have a lot of moving parts heading into the 2015 season, but they’re set at closer.
Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington announced Thursday afternoon that the team has signed Koji Uehara to a two-year contract through 2016. The team didn’t disclose details of the contract, but multiple reports said the deal was worth $18 million.

Uehara became a free agent after the 2014 season but reportedly was in talks with the team earlier this week about staying in Boston.
The 39-year-old right-hander tallied a career-high 26 saves for the Red Sox in 2014, one year after posting a 1.09 ERA with 21 saves during Boston’s World Series championship season.
The Red Sox also announced that catcher David Ross and right-handed reliever Burke Badenhop elected to become free agents.
