Columbus Blue Jackets forward Scott Hartnell was in no mood to fool around during Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Kings at the Staples Center.

Less than two and a half minutes into the game, Kings center Jordan Nolan made the mistake of tapping Hartnell from the bench. Hartnell’s response was to swing his stick violently toward Nolan and his teammates.

A fight between Matt Greene and Corey Tropp broke out thirty seconds prior to Hartnell’s outburst, so emotions were already running high when Nolan made the move to irritate Hartnell.

The Blue Jackets winger was sent to the box for roughing on Dwight King, who came over to defend his teammates. The Kings were unable to convert on the man-advantage but skated to an easy 5-2 win.
