Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez might not spend his Sundays playing NFL football anymore, but he still gets to watch it.
Hernandez, who is facing three murder charges, has been a “model citizen” since relocating to the Nashua Street Jail in Boston three months ago, according to the Boston Herald. His good behavior while behind bars even means he’s allowed to watch his old teammates take the field on TV every week, Suffolk Sheriff Steven Tompkins told the Herald on Monday.
“He’s doing fine,” Tompkins said. “No problems, no complaints, so I think everything’s working out right. He can probably watch the Patriots games.”
Hernandez wasn’t able to watch the Pats while at the Bristol House of Correction in North Dartmouth, Mass., because the 24-year-old was housed in a special-management unit where he was confined to his cell for 21 hours a day.
Hernandez now is in general population, according to Tompkins.
