Tom BradyFOXBORO, Mass. — Tom Brady is in the Halloween spirit as he gets prepared for a frightening Denver Broncos front seven.

The New England Patriots quarterback was filled with quips during his news conference on Wednesday, and he threw in some tricks and treats while explaining what makes the Broncos so great.

“I think we’re expecting to go out and win. That’s what the expectation has always been. Certainly not to go out there, break a sweat and lose the game,” Brady joked. “So, we gotta try to do all we can to put the pressure on them, score as many points as we can. That’s what it’s gonna take.

“They’re a very good team, made significant changes to the team that was in the Super Bowl last year. They’ve challenged a lot of teams this year, they’ve got ahead of a lot of teams and really put the nail in the coffin. That’s a Halloween reference.”

One of those changes was signing edge rusher DeMarcus Ware, who has combined with linebacker Von Miller to send chills down opposing quarterbacks’ spines with 16 combined sacks.

“They’re pretty spectacular,” Brady said about the pass rushers. “I think one’s got nine sacks, the other’s got seven. They just tee off on the quarterback. They’ve got every move, they’ve got the speed, the power, spin moves.”

Brady is spending most of his time preparing for that Broncos defense, which also includes former teammate, cornerback Aqib Talib, but the QB will carve out some time to spend Friday night with his kids, trick-or-treating.

“It’s a great night. Halloween’s a great night around here,” Brady said. “My kids are coming into their own, so it should be a fun night. Pull the pillow cases off the pillows and go to town.”
