Tony Bennett Sings Wrong Words To ‘God Bless America’ At Giants Game (Video)

Legendary singer Tony Bennett had a little slip-up Monday.

The San Francisco icon was on hand to sing “God Bless America” in the seventh inning of Game 3 of the National League Division Series between the Giants and Washington Nationals. As he probably has many times before, Bennett was set to sing the American staple. Things didn’t necessarily go as planned, though.

Bennett walked out to home plate during the seventh-inning stretch. Things were going fine until Bennett slipped up with the words. Instead of singing “oceans white with foam,” the crooner belted out the words “oceans right with gold.”

It’s an unfortunate mistake, but whatever. Bennett is 88 years old. Eighty-eight! He’s got piles and piles of hits. He’s allowed one screw-up here and there, even if it comes on a patriotic classic. He’s 88 and he’s singing in front of a ballpark full of people and sounding pretty good(ish).

We should all be so lucky.
