Tony RomoNo one will ever question Tony Romo’s toughness.

The Dallas Cowboys quarterback took a nasty-looking hit Monday night against the Washington Redskins that forced him to come out of the game. Romo returned to the locker room and it looked like his night was over.

However, Romo returned to the game after X-rays were negative and after getting a painkilling shot. Romo suffered a bruised back and will undergo an MRI on Tuesday, it was revealed after the Cowboys’ loss.

“It’s just hard when you lose,” Romo told reporters, according to ESPN.com. “Obviously, it’s the worst thing you feel like you go through. We’re disappointed about this game but we’re going to have to figure it out within 24 hours and move past it and move on to the next game. Obviously with the injury aspect of it, you feel like you may have dodged one from that regard. That’s why you do all the things you do to hopefully withstand stuff like that.”

Romo, who has a history of back injuries, missed two series aftter being kneed in the back on a hit from Washington linebacker Keenan Robinson.

“Obviously Tony’s our quarterback,” Dallas head coach Jason Garrett told reporters. “So if Tony’s healthy and ready to go, he’s going to play.”
