A very pregnant Stephanie Hetherington and her husband Jason were at Kauffman Stadium to cheer on the Kansas City Royals before Game 1 of the World Series, when her water broke.

Rather than immediately rushing to the hospital, however, Hetherington opted to stay and watch the game for as long as she possibly could.

“I thought I would just labor at the game for a while because I wasn’t really contracting, you know? My water just broke,” Hetherington told Kansas City’s KCTV.

Hetherington’s plan didn’t stay in effect for very long, though. The game hadn’t even started when the baby decided she wanted to make her entrance into the world. The couple found an usher to help them get to their car as they made their way to a local hospital.

Their baby, Ali, was born without complications before midnight, and the diehard Royals fans were even able to watch the game in the delivery room.
