ALCS - Detroit Tigers v Boston Red Sox - Game SixIt didn’t take Bill Mueller very long to find a new job.

After resigning as the Chicago Cubs’ hitting coach in October, Mueller was hired by the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday as their assistant hitting coach. He’ll work under Cards hitting coach and former MLB utility man John Mabry.

It was a busy Monday for the Cardinals, who made a blockbuster trade in addition to hiring the former Boston Red Sox third baseman. St. Louis acquired outfielder Jason Heyward and right-handed pitcher Jordan Walden from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for right-handers Shelby Miller and Tyrell Jenkins.
