End of Regulation, 3-3

The Bruins scored three third-period goals to earn at least a point from this game. They entered the final period trailing 2-0.

Dennis Seidenberg, Daniel Paille and Matt Fraser scored in the final 20 minutes of regulation for Boston. Jack Johnson scored the equalizer for Columbus at 12:47.

Bruins defenseman Dougie Hamilton did not play the final 9:24 of the third period. That might have been related to him battling the flu earlier in the week.

Third Period, 18:19, 3-3: Niklas Svedberg is in the zone right now.

Nicholas Goss Fri, Nov 21, 20149:19pm

Second Period, 15:20, 2-0 Columbus: Joe Morrow gives up the puck in his own zone with a poor pass, but Brian Gibbons is unable to beat Niklas Svedberg with a shot from inside the left faceoff circle.

Most of Boston’s shots are coming from the perimeter, which is making it easy for Sergei Bobrovsky to see the puck and make saves.

Nicholas Goss Fri, Nov 21, 20148:14pm

Reilly Smith just dangled Dalton Prout at the side of the net, but he was unable to beat Sergei Bobrovsky with a backhand shot. It was the best scoring chance of the period for the B’s.

Nicholas Goss Fri, Nov 21, 20148:05pm

First Period, 5:10, 0-0: Columbus has a 3-1 shot advantage and has spent most of play in the attacking zone. Bruins defensemen haven’t looked comfortable with the puck early on — too many inaccurate passes.

Nicholas Goss Fri, Nov 21, 20147:09pm

Nicholas Goss Fri, Nov 21, 20146:43pm

6:42 pm: Bruins lines in warmups:

Nicholas Goss Fri, Nov 21, 20146:37pm

6:36 pm: Bruins center David Krejci is not on the ice for the pre-game skate.

We might see forward prospect Alexander Khokhlachev tonight. He has one game of NHL experience and is tied for the team lead in scoring on the Providence Bruins (AHL).

Nicholas Goss Fri, Nov 21, 20146:35pm

6:30 pm: The Boston Bruins cannot afford to look ahead to upcoming matchups against the Montreal Canadiens and Pittsburgh Penguins.

Friday’s road game against the Columbus Blue Jackets won’t be an easy test for the Bruins. Columbus’ offense features several talented players, including top-six forwards Scott Hartnell, Nick Foligno and No. 1 center Ryan Johansen.

Starting goaltender and 2012-13 Vezina Trophy winner Sergei Bobrovsky has struggled this season (5-5-0 record with a .911 save percentage and a 2.85 goals against average), but he’s certainly capable of stealing a game for his team.

The Bruins won’t have top-six winger Brad Marchand (undisclosed ailment). He didn’t make the trip to Columbus. Defenseman Kevan Miller should return to the lineup after dislocating his right shoulder on Oct. 18.

Backup goaltender Niklas Svedberg was the first Bruins goaltender off the ice during the morning skate, which normally indicates he will start.
