BU’s Jack Eichel Named National Rookie Of The Month For October

Jack EichelBoston University phenom Jack Eichel’s extraordinary start to the college hockey season has earned him national Rookie of the Month honors.

Eichel helped the Terriers to a perfect 4-0-0 record in October by averaging two points per game. The 18-year-old forward recorded four goals and four assists over the course of his first collegiate month, including two of each in his first career game on Oct. 10 against UMass.

Other highlights of Eichel’s promising first month include scoring the lone goal in BU’s 1-0 win over Michigan State on Oct. 24 and a short-handed score in the team’s 4-1 victory over Providence on Oct. 31.

Eichel currently leads Hockey East in conference scoring with three goals and nine assists in league play.
