Cal Fails Miserably With Arguably Worst Fake Punt Of All Time (Video)

Sometimes, things just don’t work out the way you plan them. For the University of California football team, though, you kind of wonder what they even had planned.

Cal was a on the short end of a 38-30 decision against USC on Thursday night, but that was far from the most embarrassing thing that happened to the Golden Bears.

That moment was reserved for what can only be described as one of the worst fake punts in the history of football, fake punts and the world, really. With Cal down 26-2 in the second quarter and facing a 4th-and-12, the Cal coaching staff figured it was the perfect time for a fake punt.

This is what happened.

Where do you even begin?

Has anyone ever seen that ridiculous marching thing before? Is it supposed to look like he’s moving his legs and about to punt the football? Because it one hundred percent does not look like that. Also, maybe come up with a little better effort than a flat-footed throw?

What do you think?  Leave a comment.

Remarkably, Cal stormed back after being down 31-9 at halftime with a comeback effort that ultimately fell just short.
