Celtics Giving Up Ton Of Shots Near Rim, According To Chart (Photo)

The Boston Celtics need to work on their defense down low, according to a fancy stats chart.

The Celtics have obvious defensive deficiencies, but an analysis by Ed Kupfer shows the team’s most glaring problem. Boston appears to be allowing 5 percent more shots in the paint than the rest of the league. [tweet https://twitter.com/EdKupfer/status/534527733171101698 align=center]

Also noteworthy is the New York Knicks’ shot selection. With its triangle offense, New York is shooting about 15 percent more shots from 16 feet to 3-point range than the league average. It doesn’t seem to be working, as the Knicks are a putrid 3-9 on the season.
