Charles Barkley Vows To Go On Hunger Strike Until Lakers Win A Game

Charles Barkley is about to become the biggest Los Angeles Lakers fan for the next week or so.

Sir Charles made a bold statement Thursday night on TNT’s “Inside the NBA,” saying he’ll go on a hunger strike until the Purple and Gold win their first game.

Unfortunately for Barkley, the 0-5 Lakers don’t even play their next game until Sunday against the Charlotte Hornets, so Barkley’s stomach already will be growling at high decibel levels.

And he better hope the Lakers beat the Hornets because after that, they visit Memphis and New Orleans before hosting San Antonio and Golden State.

In other words, it’s highly unlikely that Barkley won’t eat before the Lakers’ first win.

The winless Lakers are off to their worst start since 1957, when they played in Minneapolis. They haven’t looked competitive in any of their games this season, as their average margin of defeat is 14.8 points.
