USATSI_8187929 (1)Being a parent and a professional athlete that is away from home for much of the season has to be tough. Add having a child with cancer into the mix, and it must be nearly impossible.

Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Devon Still is playing football to help pay for his daughter Leah’s cancer treatment. The health insurance that the NFL provides covers the cost of her illness, but his profession prevents Still from being with his daughter while she fights for her life.

On Friday, Still gave the public a glimpse of that heart-wrenching reality via Twitter:

The Bengals and teams around the league have been very supportive of Still and Leah, selling jerseys for cancer research and showing tribute videos, but it doesn’t make the distance any easier.

Still also posted the following Instagram photo Friday.
