BOSTON — Injuries and illnesses continue to hit the Bruins hard this season.
Defensemen Dougie Hamilton (flu bug/virus) and Adam McQuaid (undisclosed injury), as well as forward Brad Marchand (undisclosed ailment), were not on the ice for Wednesday’s practice at TD Garden.
Bruins head coach Claude Julien said an update on McQuaid should arrive Wednesday afternoon via a team press release. That normally indicates the problem isn’t a day-to-day issue.
The veteran defenseman left Tuesday night’s win over the St. Louis Blues with just over 15 minutes remaining in the second period and did not return.
Julien also said Marchand, who didn’t play Tuesday, is day to day.
The Bruins have one more day of practice before traveling to Columbus to play the Blue Jackets on Friday in the first game of a back-to-back. Boston hosts the Montreal Canadiens at TD Garden on Saturday night.
