Dustin Pedroia Wins Fourth Career Gold Glove; Jackie Bradley Jr. Denied

Dustin Pedroia didn’t have his best year at the plate, but his defense was as stellarĀ as ever. A similar statement could be made about Jackie Bradley Jr., but he didn’t quite make the cut.

Major League Baseball announced itsĀ 2014 Gold Glove Award winners Tuesday night, and Pedroia claimed his fourth career award at second base, placing him in elite company in Boston Red Sox history.

Bradley, however, wasn’t quite as lucky. The Red Sox center fielder lost out on the Gold Glove to the Baltimore Orioles’ Adam Jones, who now has won the award three years in a row. Whether Bradley — who batted .198 this season and spent some time in Triple-A Pawtucket — deserved the awardĀ still is up for debate.
