Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury secured his 300th career NHL win Monday night with a 3-2 overtime decision over the Boston Bruins, becoming the third-fastest netminder to reach the milestone.
When Penguins center Evgeni Malkin was asked about his goalie’s accomplishment, he literally couldn’t believe it.
The Russian forward claimed he scores 10 goals on Fleury every practice. That probably isn’t much of an exaggeration, since Malkin netted two in Monday’s game, including the game-winner.
Fleury wasn’t off the hook after Malkin’s comments. Penguins forward Craig Adams surprised him with a shaving cream pie to the face during Fleury’s post-game interview with NBCSN.
