BC-Florida StateOnce again, Florida State found its undefeated season in serious jeopardy. And once again, it escaped with a comeback win.

The Boston College Eagles were tied with the No. 3 Seminoles late in the fourth quarter, but a last-second field goal from Florida State kicker Roberto Aguayo lifted his team to 20-17 win at Doak Campbell Stadium.

Boston College used a dominating ground game and a stout defense to keep pace with Jameis Winston and the Seminoles. Eagles quarterback Tyler Murphy connected with wide receiver Shakim Phillips in the second quarter to tie the score at 10-10, but Winston found Nick O’Leary for a 30-yard score less than three minutes later to take a 17-10 lead into halftime.

Murphy knotted the score at 17-17 with a 21-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. The Eagles had the ball in Seminole territory late in the fourth quarter, but kicker Joey Launceford missed a 43-yard field goal to open the door for Florida State.

Jameis Winston drove his team down the field to set up Aguayo’s 26-yard field goal, which improved Florida State’s record to 11-0 and extended its win streak to 26 games. Boston College falls to 6-5 (3-4 ACC) and will finish its regular season against Syracuse next Saturday, while Florida State will take on in-state rival Florida.
