Jimmy Graham leaped into the crowd for the first time after scoring a touchdown Sunday. It’ll also be his last time.

After a fan dressed as the Joker got a little too close by giving New Orleans Saints tight end’s derriere a healthy squeeze, Graham declared that he wasn’t going to be pulling the stunt again.

“That’ll probably be my last one after I got groped up,” Graham told The Times-Picayune. “It was a moment in the game, and I just wanted to go and thank all the fans for being there. Some people were trying to thank me a little too much.”

But The Times-Picayune got the fan’s side of the story, too. Superfan Scott McGowan said he didn’t mean anything by the gesture, and he hoped that Graham wasn’t offended by it.

“I wasn’t trying to cop a feel,” McGowan said. “I was just trying to pull him up there like everybody else. At the end of the day, I’m a loyal fan. I’ve been a season-ticket holder for 12 years and I’ve dressed as the Joker since the Heath Ledger movie.”

Still, even if McGowan killed every Saints fan’s dream of congratulating Graham in the endzone ever again, he ended up settling Graham’s $5 million franchise tag controversy.

“There was some debate about whether he was a receiver or a tight end,” McGowan said. “He’s definitely a tight end.”
