Joe Maddon will be calling the Windy City home for the next five years.

The Chicago Cubs officially announced Monday afternoon that Maddon agreed to terms on a five-year contract that will run through the 2019 season. The team announced the news via Twitter a couple of hours before introducing their newest manager during a press conference Monday afternoon.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed by the team, but ESPN’s Jim Bowden reports the deal is worth $25 million and comes “loaded” with incentive bonuses. Bowden initially reported the contract would include an opt-out clause, but clarified in a later tweet that it doesn’t include one.

The former Rays manager spent nine seasons at the helm of Tampa Bay, leading the ball club to a 754-705 record before opting out of his contract last month. Maddon replaces Rick Renteria, who had two years remaining on his contract and was expected to return, but was fired by the Cubs when Maddon became available.

Renteria led the Cubs to a 73-89 record during his only season as a major league manager.
