FOXBORO, Mass. — Julian Edelman put on quite the first-half show Sunday at Gillette Stadium.

The New England Patriots wideout already had a receiving touchdown to his credit when he received a Britton Colquitt punt at his own 16-yard line midway through the second quarter.

Edelman made one Denver Broncos defender miss before taking off down the right sideline, cutting back across the field and outracing Colquitt to the end zone for an 84-yard score.

It was Edelman’s fourth career punt-return touchdown, setting a franchise record, and it put the Patriots ahead 20-7 over Peyton Manning and the Broncos. A fired-up Tom Brady responded by sprinting onto the field to join in his wideout’s celebration.
