Luis Suarez finally is off the mark.

Suarez scored his first goal for FC Barcelona on Tuesday in his team’s 4-0 UEFA Champions League win over Apoel Nicosia. Suarez made his long-awaited debut for Barcelona a month ago but hadn’t scored a goal in his five games with the Spanish club.

Suarez ended his goal drought 27 minutes into Tuesday’s game. He received a pass inside Apoel’s penalty area, beat defender Amorim with a ridiculous first touch and turn, then slotted his shot past goalkeeper Urko Pardo into the far side of the goal.

The goal was Suarez’s first in the Champions League in over four years.

Suarez joined Barcelona last summer in a £75 million ($125 million) transfer from Liverpool. Suarez never played in the Champions League during his three-and-a-half year Liverpool career.

Suarez, 27, finally can add a goal to his Barcelona ledger. He had four assists coming into Tuesday’s game. The Uruguayan likely will add more of both before long.
