Maxie Esho scored 23 points and hauled in nine rebounds for the Minutemen, while sophomore guard Derrick Gordon chipped in 15 points of his own.

The Eagles built an 8-point halftime lead, but UMass went on a 21-5 run to start the second half, capitalizing on six BC turnovers during that span. The Eagles also had no answer for UMass’ stingy defense, which held them scoreless for the first seven minutes of the second half.

With the win, UMass improved to 2-0 on the season.
