As expected, New York City FC will don sky blue from 2015 into the future.

New York City FC unveiled the uniforms it will wear in its inaugural MLS season Thursday. Spanish striker David Villa revealed the new team’s look at a glitzy event in the Big Apple.

“It’s a perfect jersey for our first year,” Villa said, according to MLSSoccer.com. “We hope it brings a lot of luck and a lot of success.”

New York City FC will wear a sky blue jersey with white trimming and white shorts. Its home uniform is modeled after that of Premier League club Manchester City, which owns a large stake in the MLS expansion team (along with Major League Baseball’s New York Yankees).

New York City FC’s jersey also includes “Etihad Airways” on the front in reference to the team’s official jersey sponsor.
