He’s not exactly Dylan from “Chappelle’s Show,” but when it comes to naming the top five 3-point shooters of all time, Nick Young spits hot fire.
Young, who returned from a thumb injury Tuesday to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to their second win of the season, was asked how he believes he stacks up with the greatest shooters in NBA history — specifically, Boston Celtics great Larry Bird. Young’s not as crazy as you might think. He boasts a career 3-point percentage of .377 to Bird’s .376, so he’s right as far as the stats are concerned.
But Young isn’t going off the stats, evidently.
Eh, not so much. Miller (.395), Allen (.400), Curry (.397) and Thompson (.413) all have higher career 3-point percentages than Young, so we have no idea what he’s talking about here.
Whatever. Do you, Swaggy P, and never let self-doubt creep into your mind.
