Northeastern Tops BU In First Game Of ‘Coaches Vs. Cancer’ Tripleheader

Screen.Shot.2014.11.16.at.4.39.58.PMNortheastern used a dominant second half to secure a 71-65 win against Boston University in Game 1 of the Coaches vs. Cancer tripleheader at TD Garden on Sunday afternoon.

With the exception of the Huskies’ opening basket, the Terriers led the entire first half, taking a nine-point lead into the half. The two went back and forth in the final 20 minutes, with Northeastern eventually seizing the lead for good after a Quincy Ford 3-pointer put them up 65-60 with 2:11 remaining int the game.

Northeastern outscored the Terriers 44-29 in the second half.

David Walker’s career-high 23 points led the way for the Huskies’ season-opening win, while Cedric Hankerson led the offensive charge for BU with 15 points.

Northeastern has now won four of their last five against their crosstown rivals.
