Ohio State’s win over Michigan on Saturday was tempered by some incredibly sad news.

The body of Kosta Karageorge, a defensive lineman on the Buckeyes’ football team, was found in a dumpster on campus Sunday with what police believeĀ is a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Karageorge, a member of the Ohio State wrestling team who walked onto the football team this season, had been missing since Wednesday. A gun was found in the dumpster along with his body, but Columbus police have yet to determine if the weapon belonged to Karageorge.

According to Karageorge’s mother, her son had suffered several concussions and sent her a text message before going missing Wednesday morning that read, “I am sorry if I am an embarrassment but these concussions have my head all fā€”ed up.”

Karageorge was identified by the tattoos on his body. He was 22.
