Exactly one month ago, Peyton Manning was leading the Denver Broncos to their fourth straight win. Now he’s getting booed at his own stadium.

You’d think one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history would be safe from reproach, especially if that player’s team has a 7-3 record through Week 11. But Denver’s offense got off to a slow start against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, and after Manning was forced to call a timeout on third down, the home crowd let him hear it.

That’s not exactly Edmonton Oilers-level booing, but it certainly is a surprising reaction to a quarterback who led the Broncos to a Super Bowl appearance last season. Then again, Denver fans haven’t had much to cheer about recently, as their team has lost two of its last three games to the New England Patriots and St. Louis Rams.

Apparently, Manning didn’t like what he heard, as he stormed his offense down the field for a touchdown following the timeout. To ensure the boo-birds stayed quiet, the Broncos put up 22 points in the second half to earn a 39-36 win.

As for Manning, he finished the day by completing 28 of 35 passes for 257 yards, four passing touchdowns and no interceptions. Maybe Broncos fans should boo him more often.
