The New York Rangers lost two more defensemen to injury Saturday night.

Captain Ryan McDonagh and fellow blueliner Kevin Klein both went down with injuries during the first period against the Winnipeg Jets, and neither returned. McDonagh was crushed into the boards by Evander Kane as he went to play the puck midway through the first, with his left shoulder taking the brunt of the impact.

The captain, who injured the same shoulder last season, remained down on the ice for a few moments before exiting to the locker room. The team  announced he suffered a separated shoulder.

Klein, meanwhile, suffered a left foot contusion as the result of a blocked shot, leaving the Rangers with four defensemen for the remainder of the contest.

The Rangers were already without Dan Boyle, who is out with a broken hand, and John Moore, who is serving a five-game suspension.
