Report: Alex Rodriguez Paid Cousin $900K To Keep Quiet About Steroids

Alex Rodriguez’s cousin, Yuri Sucart, has protected the New York Yankees slugger by taking blow after blow for the troubled third baseman.

Not only did Sucart take the blame for supplying Rodriguez with steroids, but he also remained hush-hush about the slugger’s steroid use. Now, it’s clear why he stayed so loyal.

The New York Daily News reported Monday that Rodriguez paid Sucart $900,000 to cover his rear end and never disclose any incriminating information about A-Rod.

Documents filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida revealed that Sucart’s former lawyer, Jeffrey Sonn, wrote a letter to Rodriguez revealing that the cousin knew a lot about his steroid use.

“Yuri, even after he was accused of being a steroid mule for you, kept your confidences of all your activities while you played for the Rangers and the Yankees,” Sonn wrote.

The $900,000 settlement was confidential, and Sonn originally had demanded $5 million and an estate from A-Rod, according to court papers.
