Nothing is easy for the Carolina Hurricanes these days.
The bottom-dwellers of the Eastern Conference were trailing by a goal to the New York Rangers late in the third period during Sunday’s game, which led to the most hilarious moment of the game for everyone not named Anton Khudobin.
The Carolina goalie was pulled in the final minutes of the game for an extra skater, but skating to the bench proved to be much easier than actually getting over the bench.
The sequence of events likely wasn’t much fun for Khudobin, but it certainly was a barrel of laughs for goaltender Cam Ward.
Khudobin’s struggles proved to be all for naught, as the Hurricanes fell 1-0 to the Rangers. It was Carolina’s eighth loss in nine games.
