Brandon Spikes knows a bet’s a bet.

In March, the Buffalo Bills linebacker made a Twitter bet with New England Patriots fan Matt Afonso that UConn would lose in the third round of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. Spikes, a former Patriot, offered the fan four tickets to Sunday’s Buffalo-New England matchup at Gillette Stadium if the Huskies won, and Afonso offered to buy tickets himself and wear Spikes’ Bills jersey if they lost.

Well, UConn beat Villanova 77-65 in the Round of 32 — the Huskies went on to win the championship — so Spikes had to pay up.

He did just that, and then some.

It was a pretty classy move by Spikes, especially considering how good the seats were.
