Josh Gordon’s season will finish the way it started.

The Cleveland Browns announced Saturday that they have suspended Gordon for their season finale against the Baltimore Ravens due to an unspecified violation of team rules.

Gordon and rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel both were absent from Saturday’s walkthrough, and the Browns had difficulty locating them, according to ESPN.com’s Pat McManamon. Manziel left Cleveland’s Week 16 game against the Carolina Panthers with a hamstring injury and has been ruled out for Week 17.

Gordon already had missed Cleveland’s first 10 games this season for violating the NFL’s drug policy. The 23-year-old wide receiver recorded 120 yards on eight catches in his first game back in Week 11, but failed to top 75 receiving yards in any of his next four contests.

Gordon will finish the season with 303 receiving yards and no touchdowns after leading the NFL with 1,646 yards receiving in 2013. Wide receiver Phil Bates was promoted from the practice squad to replace him, as the 7-8 Browns will attempt to finish the season at .500 behind rookie quarterback Connor Shaw.
