Third Period, 18:29, 3-3: A few seconds after Tuukka Rask left the bench for the extra attacker, the Bruins equalized with a Dougie Hamilton goal. It’s his second of the game. Patrice Bergeron and Reilly Smith picked up assists.

Third Period, 17:00, 3-2 Buffalo: Tuukka Rask makes another save on a 2-on-1 Sabres scoring chance after the Bruins weren’t able to handle the puck at the point. Boston is controlling the majority of possession in the attacking zone, as expected, but the Sabres are doing a good job of blocking shots and winning puck battles.
Third Period, 14:00, 3-2 Buffalo: David Krejci enters the attacking zone and works his way into the low slot, but his backhand shot is gloved by Jhonas Enroth. Milan Lucic appeared to be offside, but the linesman didn’t make a call.
It was Boston’s best scoring chance of the period so far.
Third Period, 11:30, 3-2 Buffalo: The Bruins have a 59 to 32 shot attempt advantage (31-26 SOG edge), but Jhonas Enroth has made a few good saves in this period to protect his team’s lead.
Third Period, 7:00, 3-2 Buffalo: Craig Cunningham has skated at right wing with David Krejci and Milan Lucic for most of this period. Loui Eriksson has moved back to his normal role at right wing alongside Chris Kelly and Carl Soderberg.
Third Period, 2:00, 3-2 Buffalo: Brad Marchand is denied by Jhonas Enroth on a shot from the top of the crease. Patrice Bergeron made a centering pass from the goal line to Enroth’s right to create the scoring chance.
Seconds later, Reilly Smith hit the post with a shot.

Second Period, 14:36, 2-1 Buffalo: The Sabres have taken their first lead. Rasmus Ristolainen fanned on a shot inside the right faceoff circle and the puck went off Torey Krug’s leg and into the net. An unlucky bounce for the Bruins, for sure.

Second Period, 13:07, 1-1: The Bruins are about to be short-handed as Dougie Hamilton skates to the penalty box for tripping. Buffalo is 0-for-1 on the power play tonight.

Second Period, 3:05, 1-0 Boston: Dennis Seidenberg beats Jhonas Enroth on a shot from the point, but the puck hits the post and bounces into the slot. It came at the end of an extended shift in the attacking zone by the Lucic-Krejci-Eriksson line.

First Period, 13:30, 1-0 Boston: Matt Bartkowski dished out a monster hit on Brian Gionta, and Marcus Foligno immediately dropped his gloves to fight the Bruins defenseman.
First Period, 13:30, 1-0 Boston: Tuukka Rask denies Tyler Ennis at the top of the crease at the end of a 2-on-1 scoring chance. It’s the first great save of the night for Boston’s goaltender. Zdeno Chara jumped into the play in the attacking zone and couldn’t handle a pass in the slot, which led to Buffalo’s odd-man rush.
First Period, 5:52, 1-0 Boston: After a horrendous goalie interference call goes against the Bruins, Dougie Hamilton scores on the power play to give Boston an early lead. It’s his sixth goal of the season, tying him with Torey Krug for the team lead among defensemen. Carl Soderberg and Loui Eriksson picked up assists.
The Bruins had been 1-for-29 on the power play before that goal.

6:30 pm: Tuukka Rask (Boston) and Jhonas Enroth (Buffalo) lead their teams out on to the ice for warmups and will start in net.
6:15 pm: The Boston Bruins have returned to TD Garden for a short two-game homestand before the holiday break.
Boston’s first test is Sunday night against the Buffalo Sabres, an opponent the B’s have defeated twice on the road this season.
The Sabres will be short-handed tonight with top-four defenseman Tyler Myers unable to play because of an injury, per Mike Harrington of the Buffalo News.
Myers isn’t the only Buffalo player not at 100 percent for Sunday’s matchup, which could complicate matters for Sabres head coach Ted Nolan in the third period.

The Bruins are as close to a healthy roster as they’ve been all season. First-line center David Krejci and No. 1 defenseman Zdeno Chara both are at least two games into their return from injuries. Veteran defenseman Adam McQuaid is the only injured Bruin.
We should see the same Bruins lineup used in Friday’s 2-1 loss to the Winnipeg Jets. Tuukka Rask is expected to start in net for Boston.
