Someone tried to steal Christmas from a family in Charlotte, N.C., but luckily, a Carolina Panthers coach saved the day.
Crystal Davis, a single mother of five, didn’t know what she was going to do when someone broke into her house Sunday and stole all of the family’s gifts from under their tree, per NBC Charlotte. Panthers defensive line coach Eric Washington saw the story on TV, though, and he and his family decided to replace what was stolen.
On Christmas Eve, Washington’s wife Amy and sister Angela went shopping while he was at practice preparing for Carolina’s upcoming game against the Atlanta Falcons.
“We are just so thrilled to be able to share the holiday with Ms. Davis and her family,” Amy Washington told NBC Charlotte.”We think every child should wake up and have a smile on Christmas morning.”
So this Christmas, the Davis family had presents under their tree, which was decorated in Panthers colors. Davis, of course, was ecstatic.
“This has turned out to be an awesome Christmas,” Davis said. “I think its the best one yet.”
