Another day, another frustrating loss for the Boston Bruins.

The Columbus Blue Jackets blew out the Bruins 6-2 on Saturday night, and needless to say, head coach Claude Julien wasn’t pleased after the game.

“I thought we had some chances,” Julien said. “We should’ve scored a little bit more than we did tonight, but again the finish wasn’t there, so there’s a lot to pick at tonight, and certainly we need to pull up our socks here and get ready for these next couple of games here this week.”

Julien’s biggest concern was with his defense, which he said made too many costly mistakes for its goaltenders.

“The one thing you don’t do is take your goaltender’s eyes away and not block that shot,” Julien said. “So there’s some mistakes. Even moving the puck from our own end. Instead of moving (defense to defense) and up, we were going back, and obviously that cost us the goal there at the end of the second period, which really hurt us a lot.”

For Julien, there just were too many moments when the Bruins “weren’t there … weren’t committed … weren’t sharp.”
