The second overall pick in the 1998 NFL draft was released from prison Wednesday after being sentenced in 2012 for breaking into a home to steal prescription painkillers.

Leaf currently is under the supervision of probation and parole officers in Great Falls, Mont., according to Montana Department of Corrections spokeswoman Judy Beck.

After enjoying a successful collegiate career at Washington State, Leaf became known as one of the biggest busts in NFL history with the San Diego Chargers.
