Freddy Adu is looking for work again.

Adu, 25, will leave FK Jagodina in the coming days, as his six-month contract comes to an end. Rumors claimed Adu was set to be released, but the one-time U.S. soccer prodigy clarified reports on Twitter on Monday.

Adu joined Jagondina in July but made only one appearance — as a second-half substitute in a cup game on Sept. 24 — for the Serbian club.

Adu famously became a professional when he signed with Major League Soccer’s D.C. United in 2004. Adu’s career since has taken a winding road around Europe and the Americas, as the highly touted prospect has played for 10 clubs in the last 10 years as well as stints on the United States’ Olympic and senior national teams.

Adu now can join another team as a free agent.
